After a divorce and depression, Gilbert goes on a quest to find herself. She leaves behind her life in the U.S., traveling to Italy, India and Bali. As a person who values investigative introspection, it was easy to me to identify with the author as she learns about herself, digging for the truth of her being. In each country she learns about different aspects of herself against the backdrop of the three different cultures. I thoroughly enjoyed the book, reading it in only two days.
If you enjoy reading of other’s seeking, personal and spiritual quests, you will enjoy this book. If introspection and spirituality is of no importance to you, you may find it difficult to identify with the author, although, if you are interested in learning about different cultures, you may find something interesting in this book.
